Great Grower Champagnes
Arnaud’s
Restaurant
Noel Coward was once asked why he drinks Champagne for
breakfast. His response: “Doesn’t everyone?” Start
off the morning with some fine bubbles. Though many of
the larger Champagne houses might be familiar, today
it is the smaller growers who are crafting some of the
most elegant and distinct wines of the region. Taste
some of the best.
Presented by: Ziggy Eschliman, “The Wine Gal”
FRIDAY
11:30am-12:30pm

New World Pinot Noir. Join a panel of winegrowers from
four of Oregon ’s leading wineries and sample some
of the regions’ finest. Learn why Oregon is the
perfect place to grow Pinot Noir and taste why this fickle
and challenging grape continues to thrill wine lovers.

FRIDAY
2:00pm-3:00pm
The Art of the Blend
Arnaud’s
Restaurant, The Counts Room
Blending is often described as winemaker’s art.
Like a symphony conductor, a winemaker brings together
the five major Bordeaux varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon,
Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec) in a
harmonious and integrated way. The resulting wine is
often rich and layered with amazing complexity and depth.
Now it’s your turn! Join Dry Creek Vineyard as
you hone your blending skills, just like a winemaker.
Take equal parts of each component to make the best blend
possible. Don’t miss an exciting opportunity to
learn the art of blending!
Presented by: Randall Pettit, Spokesperson for Dry Creek
Vineyards
Moderated by: Ziggy Eschliman, “The Wine Gal”
FRIDAY
2:00pm - 3:00pm
Red, White and Cool
Muriel’s
Restaurant
Two California winemakers separated by 500 miles are
connected by their artisan approach to making cool climate
wines. Down south in Santa Barbara County , Bridlewood's
David Hopkins follows the flavor, blending his award-winning
Syrah and Viognier wines with fruit from many vineyards.
Up north in Sonoma County , Susan Doyle, winemaker for
MacMurray Ranch, delves deeply into the famous Russian
River Valley terroir as she crafts her limited production
Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris wines with Burgundian finesse.
Taste the wines and hear the debate on these two different
approaches to making cool climate wines.
Guest Winemakers: David Hopkins, Bridlewood winemaker,
and Susan Doyle, MacMurray Ranch winemaker
Moderated by: Carmen Castorina, Director of Communications
to Gallo of Sonoma
